A severe storm known as a "derecho" slammed into the Midwest Monday. Winds as high as 70 miles per hour were reported in Nebraska Monday morning. The storm continued to pick up speed as it moved across much of Iowa, hitting 99 mph, then reaching speeds of more than 100 mph once the storm reached a large swath of Illinois and Wisconsin by midafternoon

December corn is up 2 1/4 cents, November soybeans are down 1 3/4 cents and September KC wheat is up 3 cents.
